Purchase Information

If you know what you are looking for, type your desired item into the search bar at the top of the Bakesale homescreen. You’ll get a dropdown list of all products matching your description. Click on the item/s that look good to you and you’ll be taken to the search results.

If you want to browse items on offer from our bakers, you can use the category links further down the home screen (Cupcakes, Biscuits & Cookies), or if you prefer, check out the items rotating across the screen below.

Click on the ‘Shop’ tab at the top of the Bakesale home screen, and then ‘Store List’. This will take you to an alphabetical list of all our talented bakers. Click on their store to see every yummy thing they have on offer!

Yes! Every seller on Bakesale is a Registered Food Business with the ACT Health Protection Service. The exception to this is stores offering baking accessories.

The amount of goods you can purchase depends on the stock each baker has available at any given time. If you need more of an item than what the seller has available, we suggest contacting the seller directly, or perhaps seeing if another baker has something similar in the quantity you want.

Most sellers are happy for you to collect your purchase directly from them at a mutually agreed time, or at a time designated by the seller, at no charge.

When you go to the Checkout screen to purchase an item/s, you will be prompted to enter your delivery details. If your delivery location falls outside of the baker’s delivery range (eg. 20km) there will only be the option to pick up the item/s at a mutually agreed time. Some bakers only offer pick up.

Order Information

Yes you can! If you have a question or a specific request for one of our bakers, go directly to their store details under the ‘Shop’ tab and you will find their direct contact details as well as links that will allow you to send a message directly from the Bakesale website.

If you order a custom-made item from a seller, we recommend that you confirm the cost/quote directly with the seller before purchasing, unless they advise otherwise.

If you receive the wrong item/s or if you are not satisfied with their quality, please contact the seller directly (see no.7) with your query. If you have contacted the seller and their response has been unsatisfactory, Bakesale may be able to help you resolve the issue through our dispute resolution system.

No, but we take complaints seriously, especially if they relate to health/food business regulations.

Bakesale enables customers to search for specific dietary requirements. If a baker advertises their products as allergy-safe, the liability for this claim lies with the baker, not with Bakesale.

There is a ‘User Review’ section at the bottom of each item page. All customer reviews are screened for appropriate language prior to being posted on our website.

Custom made orders are at the seller’s discretion. Please contact the seller directly to discuss.

Seller Information

Yes you can! Store hours are available to be set on the Dashboard. Simply enable store hours and add them to your store. You can even disable orders for certain days.

The Dashboard has holiday mode available in store hours.  

After accepting an order, you can cancel the order through the Dashboard.  It is recomended that you email the customer directly to explain and assist in rescheduling.

Bakesale enables editing of reviews only when they use offensive language or are defaming or derogatory for diversity groups.

There is an order management section on the Dashboard that allows bakers ot set orders as being processed, complete or cancelled. 

Adding a product to your store is simple.

  1. Select the ‘Products’ tab from the menu on the left and click on ‘Add New Product’. Alternatively, you can go through the product dashboard page. 
  2. Enter all the relevant details about your product, including a title, description, price, quantity and more.
  3. Choose a category for your product from our pre-defined options or create a new one.
  4. Add some photos of your product and you’re all set!
  5. If you are unsure of any section click the little blue question mark.


If you want to save your product and come back to it, you can hit the Draft button in the bottom right corner of your screen.

Once you’re ready to start selling your awesome new product, be sure to ‘Submit’ in the bottom right corner of your screen.
